Foreword Look outside and see the world swamped with advertisements and tools to reach the common man around the block. Almost every product has it's poster sticking on a wall near you; although there is one product you won't see that much around your neighborhood; and that's ARTvertisements of your favorite indie artist near you... It has become distinctly easier for audio/visual artists to create and distribute their works around the globe; but still there are many (new) artists facing one big problem and that's exposure. Because, fans don't only want to be close to their favorite artists, but an artist also needs to make it possible for them to be visible through the World Wide West of sites around the Internet. artIStweet can be seen as an artist promotion tool for artists; an artist hub, the next generation tracking and collaboration tool for and by the artist. A collection of information made publically by the artist, ready to be promoted towards the world without knowing too much about the latest technologies; while being close to their fans and collaborators. I've combined my knowledge as programmer, designer and audio/visual artist to create a tool, simple to use and accessible for many (aspirant) artists around the globe; helping to stamp their presence on the web. The web 2.0 tool includes many options for artists and labels to get their fans updated with the latest information while being able to focus best on his own field. I'll keep working on this tool till it will be feasable and easy for any artist to get their spot on the world wide web without scruteny. The primary step is to get audio & visual artists their spot, but at a later time this will be extend for any artist, writer or photographer to get their works centralized. The application will grow in the future to a full integration towards its providers for audio, video and more; to make artists it easy to add their works by the click of a button. |
